LittleDish - FAQ’s

Is the packaging recyclable?

The packaging used for our meals is 100% recyclable. Simply rinse the glass jar after use, and then the jar, lid and paper sleeve can all be recycled.

Why does my meal need to be kept refrigerated?

All of our Little Dish toddler meals are fresh, and contain no preservatives, and so for safety reasons must be kept refrigerated and consumed by the best-by date displayed on the lid.

Can I feed your meals to my baby aged 6-12 months?

Our toddler meals are recommended for ages 1+, as the portion and piece sizes have been tailored to toddlers as well as nutritionally developed for this age range, however, we do leave it down to the parent’s discretion as to whether they think their little one is ready for our meals earlier than this. There is no specific reason why a child younger than 1yr couldn’t enjoy our meals, although please do bear in mind any unknown allergies that your little one may have to the ingredients in our meals.

What allergens are present in your toddler meals?

Our Macaroni & Cheese and Pasta & Tomato Sauce recipes both contain Wheat and Milk. Our Lentils & Beef is made without allergens.

How do you achieve a long best-by date on a fresh meal?

All Little Dish meals have a shelf life of 60 days. We achieve this by cooking our recipes to an exact temperature and holding it at that temperature for a specific period of time once filled into jars, followed by rapid cooling. This kills any bad bacteria that may be present and means that no more can get in to cause spoilage or illness. Preparing our meals in this way means that we are still able to use the very best, natural ingredients in our recipes without having to resort to nasty additives or preservatives.

Your packaging states you use “specially sourced” ground beef in your Beef & Lentils meal – what does this mean?

The beef used in our Beef & Lentils is only sourced from US farms and is always raised without antibiotics. Every batch of our Beef & Lentils has the seal of approval from the USDA before it leaves our production kitchen, to guarantee great quality.

This is where Little Dish come in, providing complete meals made with wholesome ingredients, but with pieces small and soft enough for your little one to manage.
